Okay, i'm really dissapointed in this cd. I was sorta dissapointed with vicarious when i forst heard it cuz it sounded lateralus-y, but damn this cd isn't what i expected at all.

The only track i liked was Right in two. 10,000 days was way too slow for like 8 minutes, then fast for like 1 minute, then it went slow again. damn did that suck ass.

But this's coming form a perspective of someone who's loved every tool cd more and more. And this just seems like a huge step back to thier older sound.

So if you like opiate and undertow better than aenima and lateralus, you'll love 10,000 days. If you want something as hard as aenima and lateralus, you wont find it here.

I enjoy Tool's new cd, even though, like Toad said, it is a bit slower paced that Tool's other releases. I don't think it wasn't expected though, considering Keenan kept saying that it was going to be "more emotionally driven". I think that their style hasnt changed because this album does sound like something Tool would write, but it is a bit slower moving than their other albums.

Being a musician myself and open to all music, I feel that this album was really awesome and kind of a learning experience. It is hard to be creative nowadays, especially when people are stealing ideas from others and trying to "copy a sound". Tool is able to maintain their own sound and I really respect that from a band, especially when their sound is HARD to copy. Overall, I give this album a 9/10 :D .

Not a Tool fan myself, but found this on Digg, about a "hidden song" by combining two or more songs off the album, more info here

I agree with Toad on this one. Only really one song worth listening to. If given enough time, I might like two or three but that is the best I can hope for.

OK, I figure, since I requested that this forum be made, I might as well post here.

10,000 Days is a work of Genius. It may sound like their older album, Undertow, but It still has the very few new touches to make it different and wonderful. I love the way Maynard manipulates his voice for "The Pot."

That is really all I have to say.

Another good band is Rammstein. Can't understand the language, but the beats are right on. Love the hardcore style. Bit of punk with a large bit of metal.
