I'm betting your Ident had the the word "sell" in it. Change that, and you should be fine (due to people using irc to attempt to sell stolen goods, a ban was placed on *sell* as an ident (or possibly as a user id).

I can't tell what you ident was, or what the actual ban was, as you didn't post it. I can only guess.
