from the official SF mailing list, I've pulled out the shit that actually matters to me. self-praise about their record company and their production team is kinda hollow, but here's the goods:
"In an effort to get closer to their fans, Switchfoot will be playing smaller, more intimate venues. Fans will also be allowed a first peek at new album material when the track “Dirty Second Hands” is released digitally on September 19, 2006.
Switchfoot has developed a harder rock edge for the sound and songs on Oh! Gravity., which was recorded at Big Fish Recording in Encinitas, California.
