Avatar size?

Is there a maximum size avatars can be to be used in here? Or do they get automatically shrunk to a certain size?

I'm just thinking about changing my av, but I thought I had better check if there were any rules to follow before I did.

EDIT: Don't worry, just found dimensions in my User CP.
