View Full Version : Fake VideoPimp video

I came across a video, namely, Feeder - Shatter, which I've been looking to download for some time now. I found it available simply in Shareaza (a p2p program). Anyhow, some users have the filed named "feeder_-_shatter_-_videopimp.mpg", I was like, whoa, VideoPimp does not have the video in their release list. I've so far only managed to get 30%. But I see the video is off MTV in Spain. Also, whoever did it even put the VideoPimp logo overlayed on the video -> one thing though, it says just "VIDEOPIMP", and not the official "VIDEOPIMP.COM" / "VIDEOPIMP.ORG" logo text.

Well correct me if i am mistaken, but i do not believe this is an official Videopimp release - from what i can see so far.

My bet it was a test rip for someone. They used their watermark on it. And it was rejected by us. Our videos will have our watermark on them, as well as a tag.

Only crappy vids we have, are from way back in the day. 2001-2002. Back when people were using 400mhz machines to rip with (ugh). My first ripping box was a 800mhz machine with a whopping 768 megs of ram. :eek:

It is our video. It is not in our release list yet because Serch hasn't updated it. It was released in the last couple days.

All videos since last year have been named with only videopimp.mpg to shorten filenames and watermarks have been used with both videopimp and videopimp.org due to the possible sale of the domain.

Oh, Ok. Sorry, it's just that the video seems to have spread quite well, and it's not even up in the release list yet - and that part got me.

I wanna know if the video "Ich Will" by Rammstein has a videopimp blue logo with some kind of fruit (or face:confused: ) on it. i downloaded it a few years ago from a p2p program and it looks really bad since all your rips have a great quality and don't have static watermarks like this one has.

I am pretty sure that was how the vid looks. It is an older one, so it's not perfect.
