i am running xp home edition. may i know if there is a way to wipe the pc clean without affecting installed programs? as in just re-installing windows in case a spyware or virus pops up. thanks.:soshelp:

You shouldn't have to reinstall for spyware or a virus. Use common sense and run antivirus software.

You can do an overlay (install xp ontop of itself) and it won't affect anything installed. Though if you have encrypted your data, you might not be able to access it again.
