Total newbie here, need help please

Okay, i get mirc installed and all and I can get as far as getting connected dirctly to someones server after I find that they have a file I'm looking for. When I go to look through their directories, I get the disconnect in 30 seconds message. Can I stop that? Because after I get disconnected, I can't search through their directories or anything at all.

Also, I try to use the copy and paste method, but it wont let me copy after I highlight what I want to copy.

Any advice?

Ok for the 30 second thing umm no you can not change that, we servers have that set up so others can get onto the servers and get a file queued.

As for the copy paste all you need to do to copy is it highlight it and then paste it with control and v.
