My DivX DVD player plays .mpg without the need for conversion, Try just burning straight to CD or DVD.

Wow, I did not know that in the beginning. This is great. But will it convert it to DivX before burning?

*asking this as I do not touch DivX*

No it won't, unless you want to make a divx cd. What frenchy meant was to burn the .mpg files straight into a cd.

Converting from .mpg to divx/xvid won't do much for the video itself. Just burn a data cd or dvd of the .mpg files or .m2v files and play them in your dvd player (most new players support this). I HIGHLY recommend getting a Philips dvd player. Mine has a USB port on the front, that will play multimedia files straight off a USB drive (ie. pendrive or external hard drive). Works wonders.

No need to burn anything on any cd.
Use this : Xilisoft Video Converter 3.1.8.0720b
any type >>>> xvid - divx without burning, just convert in your hard.

No offense, but I'm pretty sure we already covered what needs to be done, Vamp and I have added much more info in my "For Dummies" thread. Maybe you should check it out sometime.

yea, you can create a video
[all steps : capture - audio/video setting - add logo or subtitle - watermark
and saving file in various mpeg formats and also .vob ] just using windvd creator.
mine just doesn't supports xvid ( the reason I turned to xilisoft once ) but it's already can capture in avi that takes a big MB!
and you can convert video files by adding them into program and then save them in target format. maybe it's not the best but it's really powerful.

also you can put a new audio line [ mp3 file ] on your video if the sound is poor.
