LOL, I remember when I was copying a DVD to the HD with Win98.
About 30.000.000 minutes remaining... 57 years... :D
Luckily it took only 40 mins (a bit long, but that was a slow PC)...

Windows has always had that issue when transferring files. Nothing new. Same old M$, same old issues.

Nope, no need to, I have multiple pcs. Usually if I want to try another OS, I just use a spare hard drive, in my gamer pc (P4 2.8ghz/2 gigs of ram). It will take just about any OS and it will haul ass. I have a hd somewhere with red hat on it, and another hd with server 2003 RC2 and another with server 2008 that I loaded last week then pulled as soon as it was loaded. LOL!

P4 2.8ghz as a gaming pc? I'm already having issues with my Pentium D 3.4ghz when running some games. Might get a new machine soon with c2d!! :yahoo:. Oh, and another thing, should i get a motherboard that supports DDR3? Is it too early to do that? Or should i just settle with DDR2 800/1033?

Pent. D is inferior to the P4 chip. Pent. D is basically a Celeron chip.

Core 2 duo is a joke unless you get a high end box. The lower proc speeds are just that, lower proc speeds. Most of the installs Ive done lately with c2d have been a joke. Slower than their old pcs, even with xp pro on them (our reseller/distributor still sells with xp pro coa downgrades). No amount of RAM can cover the ass of a slow ass proc.

Oh ok. And is it the right time to get vista as an OS (for my new machine)? Cos i've been hearing lots of vista problems lately.
