To all the folks here at VP,

Eagle62k1 and I have created VideoSlut, an XDCC bot that can serve videos up to 2megabytes/sec.

I have tested out the bot on my 15mbps line and I have gotten 1700kb/s down.

We shall soon be putting up a requests message on the creditline of the bot so that you can send us requests for videos that you want to be on the bot.

The bot currently has 10GB of space, with 200GB of monthly bandwidth.

If the bot should ever be down for a long period of time (a day) either our host has gone down, or we are taking a ridiculously long time to update the bot.

Woah, that is fantastic news! Thanks must go to yourself and Eagle62k1, I'll have to go check out the bot to see what speeds I can get. :D

I got bout 70kB/s on my 8mbps connection. Maybe because im living very far from the host, which i think is based in Florida. :(

The server is located in Chicago, IL. The server itself is a Quad Core with 8GB of RAM and a 1GBit connection. The server on IRC we put it on is irc.servercentral.net, which has the best ping to my machine as well as Eagle62k1, so the XDCC server has the best ping to the IRC server.

You are on the other side of the world crash, honestly no surprise there.

It all comes down to the different routes the data has to take to get to you. What might be the best for bhead/eagle, more than likely isn't the 'best' for the rest of the users.

Most Ive seen from yours is around 781Kb per sec. =)

I can pull from other bots (not in VP) at around 1.7Mbit per sec. :p

Im so jealous of you people who are able to download at blistering speeds.. But i gotta admit, the new bot has really helped users get videos on irc, especially live ones, as they are seldom posted on the main site.

That would be good for the users of VP! Its really hard to get live videos, especially like nowadays, when only a few servers regularly update his/her server, while their servers are always full.
