how do you change the quality

i was just wondering if you have a video that is a .mov or .avi(or something along those lines) and you want to change it to a .mpeg or .mpg how would you do that?

you can use quicktime pro to export a mov to uncompressed avi (or other formats, assumeably). then tmpgenc will encode avi to mpeg. there is also a plugin for tmpgenc itself to encode directly from mov to mpg. www.google.com
