Can i use and IRC program or does it have to be MIRC cuz i have mac and that doesnt come for Mac

There was an old ircle tutorial (http://forums.vampyrezkave.com/showpost.php?p=17&postcount=3) posted in the stickied thread abou irc programs & scripts...not that anyone ever reads the stickied posts...
