ok, when I try to download something, I get:

<Aniviel> The file hàs*bëen*qüeµed in slot 19

and the idle connection closes in 30 seconds.

I'm new to mIRC, could someone tell me how to get the file?

Wait in #videopimp, it will send eventually.

^^ not to be a pain but on average how long will that take?

On AVERAGE (this varies between servers and users), but an average video will take about 40 minutes to transfer.

So 18 times 40, 12 hours :\.

Try to use servers with as few queues as possible.

yes that is right it depends on each server the queue size on that server and the speed at which that server sends. try to get the file from one of the xdcc servers if the file you want is on the list

no sorry i didn't mean how long for the actual TRANSFER, but rather how long do i wait in #videopimp before the transfer starts?

That's what we were talking about. Each time a person finishes their download, you move up in a queue position :)

Until it starts? As explained before, it takes as long as it takes for the people in front of you (in line) to get their files. How fast the server is, and how fast those in front of you can download the files. Could be an hour, could be several hours, hell, could be half a day, depending on who's fserve you are on, and how fast the people are in front of you.
