Botnet Banned?

I was banned a couple of weeks ago for the following reason...

Phante sets ban on *!*dc@*
* You have been kicked from #videopimp by Phante (banned:Shitty Botnet GoodBye)
* Received a CTCP VERSION from HugeTits

My username is "punkspaz" and my IP is "208.180.18.103". I've been on with #videopimp for the better part of three years and never had any problems. I'm not even sure what a botnet is really. I thought it might be related to the mIRC I was using, so I tried XChat on the off chance, but nothing. I tried logging in under my secondary nickname too (giftsandcurses81) under desperation and still zero. I'm not using any kind of hackware or anything, so I don't really know what happened. Please help. Thanks

Then change your ident?

If ident refers to nickname/username, I did so and still have no connectivity. here is the message i got.

* Received a CTCP VERSION from HugeTits
* Cannot join #videopimp (You are banned).

when *!*dc@* is obviously the part getting banned, change the dc.

It's probably labled as email or ident in the settings.
