banned from irc server

the error says

'You are banned from this server- Temporary K-line 1440 min. - DNSBL listed. Dectected open proxy.'

How do i fix this?

Have you try using another EFnet server?

ie. irc.efnet.org, irc.efnet.net, irc.mzima.net

yes but only a few didnt ban me. most of the servers ban me. any solutions to this open proxy issue? thanks

well some piece of software is running an open proxy on your machine, so i would suggest you first run an online virus scan:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
if this throws up nothing, well i dunno... you've installed something!

Do you use any proxy? If yes, disable it.

If no, follow JoshBosh's idea.

i dont use any proxy. the online virus scan says im clean. the antivirus program i use is kapersky internet security, which also sees no virus in my system.

I can't connect to some servers sometimes, my case is same as yours. Just use any server that you can access.

I assume it's an ISP ban.

ok. some servers also repetedly ask for a new nick name, and when i keep entering diff ones, they said 'no more connections allowed on this ip'. thanks anyway for the help so far.

"no more connections allowed on this ip" is actually someone with the same IP address are connected to that particular server. Meaning you can't connect to the same server with two PC with the same internet IP address.

Anyone in your home (router) are using IRC? If no, then your ISP probably sucking most users on the same IP (end up the IRC server thought it was a proxy, clone or something else).

It's quite simply your ISP.

The IP Address is: 202.156.12.10. The host name is: 202-156-12-10.cache.maxonline.com.sg.

They shove many users thru one external IP address. So more than likely there is already several users using your IP that are also using IRC.
