Quite common for a bad hard drive to cause the entire system not to boot.
I went to cricket about 3 hours ago, and i have absolutely no idea how it happened but when i got back all my programs were frozen, and my hard drive was making a very strange sound. Now i rebooted, no ide drives detected, but when i disconnect my 60 gig everythings fine. Sadly my OS is on my 60 gig (only got the 200 gig 3 days ago so i was preying it would all be good) so i'll be down for a while. Not even an external exclosure will work with my drive .
